Patient Story: The Path to Disease Control

The patient presented to the clinic with stage IV progressive rectal cancer (T4NxM1) with metastases to the liver, lungs, and pelvic bones following 4 cycles of chemotherapy at her local hospital. At the Guangzhou Modern Cancer Hospital (China), a comprehensive minimally invasive approach was applied (microinvasive arterial interventional chemoembolization, cryoablation / radiofrequency ablation, and localized radiation therapy). This allowed for rapid stabilization of disease progression, reduction in the size of the primary tumor and lesions in the liver/lungs, and the achievement of sustained positive dynamics without severe systemic side effects.
